GENERAL

 

SUPPLEMENTAL PROGRESS REPORTS:  If you would like to receive a supplemental progress report, please see Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office between 7:30am and 8:00am Friday morning to pick one up.  If you have a 7:00am class, you may pick one up today after your last class.

 

11th GRADERS: Please don't panic if you have not yet seen your counselor for senior year pre-registration. Every 11th grader will be seen and classes are not assigned in the computer until summer. Your counselor will call you in as soon as he/she can! Thanks for your cooperation.

 

AP EXAM REGISTRATION has started and runs through March 12th, 1:00 PM.  Students may register before school, brunch or during lunch in the ASB office.  The fee for each test is $86, unless the student participate in the free or reduced lunch program.  Students can see Mrs. Haro in the AP office to learn about this program.  Don’t forget to sign up!!!  NO LATE REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED

 

PROM PAPERWORK is now available outside of the ASB office.  Tickets go on sale to Senior Fun Pack holders on Wed. March 10th.  Everyone else can buy tickets on Monday, March 15th.

 

SANTA CLARITA SHERIFF'S ANNUAL ALL SCHOOLS DANCE, 8TH TO 12TH GRADES

AT MAGIC MOUNTAIN  -----FRIDAY MARCH 5----7:00-11:00 P.M.

ENTER THROUGH THE BACK GATE---$5.00 PER  STUDENT

 

FREE SAT PREP CLASS:  Canyon will host a Free SAT Prep Class on Thursday nights for 6 weeks beginning March 18th. Only cost = $75 for materials. 11th graders taking the May or June SAT test should take advantage of this opportunity! Pick up an informational flyer in the Counseling and AP Offices to register before March 8th.

 

THE STUDENT TASK FORCE is extending the deadline on its human rights contest for essay, poetry and video entries.  The winning essay will be published in the LA Times!  All contest winners will be honored at an awards night along with their entries.  The new deadline is Friday, March 5th. LETTERMANS JACKETS:  TODAY during brunches only, on the Outdoor Stage, Dagan Sales will be here for Letterman Jacket sizing.

 

 

 

 

 

CAREER CENTER NEWS

 

VIEW WEEKEND AT THE MASTER’S COLLEGE:  Experience The Master's College for a few days in march.  Attend View Weekend and see dorm life first-hand, attend classes, and get the feel of what it's like to be a TMC student.  Stop by the Career Center for registration information.

 

WEST POINT MILITARY ACADEMY VISITATION:  Meet with a representative from West Point Military Academy and learn about the appointment procedure, programs, campus life and more!  The visitation will take place on Thurs., 3/11 at 10:30 in Room H1.  Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.

BIBLE STUDY:  Meets today in the Choir Room at lunch.

 

STUDENT TASK FORCE:  Meets today at lunch in room G-201>

 

COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL:  There is a meeting this Friday, March 5 at lunch in Ms. Goodwin’s room, U-7.  We will be discussing the upcoming Food Day and our official sponsored child.  New members are always welcome.  See you there!!

SENIORS: ** PLEASE NOTE THE DOLLAR AMOUNT HAS CHANGED.   If your parent or guardian is a member of the classified staff in the Hart District there is a $500 dollar scholarship that could be yours.  Please see Miss Atkin in the counseling office.
