GENERAL

 

AP EXAM REGISTRATION has started and runs through March 12th, 1:00 PM.  Students may register before school, brunch or during lunch in the ASB office.  The fee for each test is $86, unless the student participate in the free or reduced lunch program.  Students can see Mrs. Haro in the AP office to learn about this program.  Don’t forget to sign up!!!  NO LATE REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED

 

PROM PAPERWORK is now available outside of the ASB office.  Tickets go on sale to Senior Fun Pack holders on Wed. March 10th.  Everyone else can buy tickets on Monday, March 15th.

 

HEY! HEY! HEY!  CANYON HIGH!  Did you see that spectacular Color Guard performance at the Renaissance Rally?  Anyone who is interested in auditioning for the 2010-2011 school year, please come see Mrs. Palmer in the “Q” –Building at brunch and lunch!!

 

ACADEMY OF THE CANYONS:  Current 9th – 11th graders can get on the fast track to college!  You can make a change and be a part of a unique, rewarding high school experience!  If you would like to learn more about Academy of the Canyons Middle College High School, you and your parents are invited to attend an information meeting tonight in the Canyon High Library at 7:00 p.m.  Applications will be distributed at the meeting.

 

SANTA CLARITA SHERIFF'S ANNUAL ALL SCHOOLS DANCE, 8TH TO 12TH GRADES

AT MAGIC MOUNTAIN  -----FRIDAY MARCH 5----7:00-11:00 P.M.

ENTER THROUGH THE BACK GATE---$5.00 PER  STUDENT

 

FREE SAT PREP CLASS:  Canyon will host a Free SAT Prep Class on Thursday nights for 6 weeks beginning March 18th. Only cost = $75 for materials. 11th graders taking the May or June SAT test should take advantage of this opportunity! Pick up an informational flyer in the Counseling and AP Offices to register before March 8th.

 

THE STUDENT TASK FORCE is extending the deadline on its human rights contest for essay, poetry and video entries.  The winning essay will be published in the LA Times!  All contest winners will be honored at an awards night along with their entries.  The new deadline is Friday, March 5th. ROP CLASSES AUG 2010:  ANY STUDENT WHO WOULD LIKE TO SIGN UP FOR AN ROP CLASS STARTING IN THE FALL OF 2010 NEEDS TO GO SEE MRS. OKRONICK NOW

 

LETTERMANS JACKETS:  Thursday, March 4th during brunches only, on the Outdoor Stage, Dagan Sales will be here for Letterman Jacket sizing.

CAREER CENTER NEWS

 

ASVAB:  The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Batter will be administered TODAY in B Lecture Hall from 7:55 - 11:15.  Students may sign up in the Career Center.

 

LA SIERRA UNIVERSITY VISITATION:  A representative from La Sierra University will meet with juniors and seniors on Friday, March 5 at 10:30 in Room H1.  Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.

 

MEETINGS

 

ANIME CLUB will be meeting today in room G-220.

 

THE EQUESTRIAN CLUB will meet TODAY in Room S4.  Bring your stories to share and your goodies.

 

COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL:  There is a meeting this Friday, March 5 at lunch in Ms. Goodwin’s room, U-7.  We will be discussing the upcoming Food Day and our official sponsored child.  New members are always welcome.  See you there!!

SWIMMING:  Meet today at SCAC @ 3:00.

 

SENIORS

 

SENIORS:  If your parent or guardian is a member of the classified staff in the Hart District there is a $300 dollar scholarship that could be yours.  Please see Miss Atkin in the counseling office.
