GENERAL
TUTORING TUESDAYS is happening this week in the library. Come to the library after school on Tuesday and get help in all your subjects. Math, English, Econ, Spanish, and Social Studies help is available. Hang out with your friends, study, use the computers, and improve your grades. We'll see you Tuesday in the library after school.
AP EXAM REGISTRATION has started and runs through March 12th, 1:00 PM. Students may register before school, brunch or during lunch in the ASB office. The fee for each test is $86, unless the student participate in the free or reduced lunch program. Students can see Mrs. Haro in the AP office to learn about this program. Don’t forget to sign up!!! NO LATE REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED
HEY! HEY! HEY! CANYON HIGH! Did you see that spectacular Color Guard performance at the Renaissance Rally? Anyone who is interested in auditioning for the 2010-2011 school year, please come see Mrs. Palmer in the “Q” –Building at brunch and lunch!!
ACADEMY OF THE CANYONS: Current 9th – 11th graders can get on the fast track to college! You can make a change and be a part of a unique, rewarding high school experience! If you would like to learn more about Academy of the Canyons Middle College High School, you and your parents are invited to attend an information meeting on Wednesday, March 3 in the Canyon High Library at 7:00 p.m. or at College of the Canyons Cafeteria on Tuesday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. Applications will be distributed at the meeting.

FREE SAT PREP CLASS: Canyon will host a Free SAT Prep Class on Thursday nights for 6 weeks beginning March 18th. Only cost = $75 for materials. 11th graders taking the May or June SAT test should take advantage of this opportunity! Pick up an informational flyer in the Counseling and AP Offices to register before March 8th.
THE STUDENT TASK FORCE is extending the deadline on its human rights contest for essay, poetry and video entries. The winning essay will be published in the LA Times! All contest winners will be honored at an awards night along with their entries. The new deadline is Friday, March 5th. Turn in entries to the main office. ASVAB: The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Batter will be administered to on Wednesday, March 3 in B Lecture Hall from 7:55 - 11:15. Students may sign up in the Career Center.
SUMMER PROGRAMS AT UCSB: Applications are now being accepted for the UCSB Summer Sessions Research Mentorship Program. Highly motivated students in grades 10 - 12 may apply. Application information is available in the Career Center.

FINANCIAL AID FORMS DEADLINE: Don’t wait until the last minute!! Your counselor will need
24 hours to complete the Cal Grant GPA form. Please consider this when completing your form. Tuesday, March 2, is the last day to mail your Cal Grant GPA verification form. Cal Grant forms must be postmarked by March 2, 2010. FAFSA forms must be submitted online by March 2, 2010.
