GENERAL
TUTORING TUESDAYS IS BACK! Today, come to the library from 3:00 to 5:00 for help in Math, Chemistry, History, Biology, and English. The best group of Canyon teachers will be there to help you on your homework and to study for tests. Use the computers and study with your friends--after school today in the library. See you all at Tutoring Tuesdays.
JAZZ/POP APPLICATIONS:-If you were unable to come to the Jazz/Pop meeting or didn't pick up a Jazz/Pop application, please come to the choir room today at brunch, lunch or after school.
ATTENTION STUDENTS!! It's time for the 2010 Lion's Club Speech Contest. This year's topic is:
"Universal Healthcare - How will it affect us?" Your speech must be between 5-10 minutes in length and address the topic. The school contest will be held during the week of February 1 after school. See Mrs. Limbaugh in the library if you are interested in participating to sign up.
ROP CLASSES: MANY ROP CLASSES STILL ARE STILL OPENED. EVEN SOME THAT WERE CLOSED BEFORE HAVE ROOM. GO SEE MRS. OKRONICK ASAP TO FIND OUT WHICH CLASSES YOU CAN STILL ENROLL IN.
CSF APPLICANTS: Application forms will not be available until Tuesday, Jan. 19. That day, you may pick them up in room C8 at lunch only. No CSF business will be conducted at brunch, between classes, or after school. The completed application, copy of your December report card, volunteer hours sheet (freshmen excluded), and dues are due on the following Monday, Jan 25.
PROM FASHION SHOW: The Prom Fashion Show is right around the corner. If you would like to participate in the show, pick up an application today through January 28 outside the ASB Office. Juniors and Seniors ONLY!! First come, first served!
BE WATER WOSE, JOIN THE CLUB: Did you know that our water supply is diminishing by the hour? Well, a group of Canyon students have entered the Castaic Lake Water Agency Competition, and are called "Carpe Flux". They are a group dedicated to improving the water supply here in Santa Clarita. Check out their cool website at: www.scwater.webs.com to find out more information about this issue. And while you're there, become a member and support this cause.
DO YOU HAVE TROUBLE KEEPING UP WITH DATES? Fret no more!! Mr. Canyon calendars are on sale now in the ASB Office!! They are $15 and feature your talented senior boys. Pick one up today.
WINTER FORMAL: Are you ready for a Night in Paris? Then ask that special person to Winter Formal! Tickets are on sale now through Friday, January 22 in the ASB Office, before school, lunch and brunch. Tickets are $80 per couple.

U.S. SECRET SERVICE CAREER SEMINAR: Would you like to find out what it is like to guard the President? Explore a career as a U.S. Secret Service Agent on Thurs., 1/28 at 10:30 in the Library. Learn about educational requirements, job duties and more! Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.

NEW CLUB: COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL: Hey Cowboys!! Want to start the New Year by helping a child in poverty? All you have to do is come to the very first meeting of the Compassion International Club. Further information will be given at the meeting on Friday, January 22, at lunch in Ms. Goodwin’s room, U-7. See you there!
KEY CLUB: There is a general meeting in the Aux gym TOAY.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: There is a National Honor Society meeting on Wednesday, January 20th at lunch in room G-105.
