GENERAL

CIF FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS:  Hey Cowboys----Come on out Friday night to Moorpark High School for round one of CIF Football playoffs!!  Tickets are on sale in the ASB Office.  $ 8.00 for adults, $5.00 for children 13 and under.  If you show your Canyon ID the tickets are $5.00.  KICKOFF IS AT 7:00 P.M.

ARE YOU A RENAISSANCE CARD HOLDER?  Do you want a free bagel?  Then come to K-1 at both brunches and show us your Renaissance Card and ID.  The first 50 will receive a free bagel!!!

SWIM TEAM TRYOUT MEETING TODAY!!!! S-4 Canyon Team Room not T-1. BEGINNING OF LUNCH!  Every swimmer must go to the meeting.

BASEBALL TRY-OUTS will be held November 23 and 24 from 3 to 5 pm.  See Coach Schulhofer in B-5 to sign up.

BOYS GOLF TRYOUTS:  Boys interested in trying out for the 2010 Canyon Golf team must come to tryouts Thursday of this week at Vista Valencia between 2 and 4 o'clock. Please bring clubs, proper attire and $20 for green fees and range balls. See Coach Lee in E1 for details.

SOFTBALL TRYOUTS: Are TODAY, at North Oaks Park.  Time:  2:20 OR if you have a 7^th period class –tryouts are immediately after 7^th period.  Everyone MUST tryout—even returning players. 

INTRAMURAL SOCCER sign ups are taking place in room C-5 at both brunches and at lunch! Sign up with your team or sign up on your own, and we will get you on a team! 

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY:  Did you know that 90% of smokers start by the time they are 18. Tobacco companies know that if they don't get kids to light up while they are young, the most likely never will.  Tomorrow, American Cancer Society is putting up a tobacco cemetery to show the severity of smoking. Join in the Great American Smokeout, and don't smoke on tomorrow.

KNOTT’S BERRY FARM:  There are still spots open to go on this renaissance trip.  Bring $40 and the permission slip to the ASB office by Wednesday at lunch.  You must have a yellow renaissance card to participate.

CSF MEMBERS: If you would like to pick up the volunteer-hours sheet in order to begin getting signatures for the ten hours due in January, come to room C8 at lunch on Thursday or Friday of this week.  Forms will be handed out at no other time.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS: Do you enjoy helping others? Maybe you would make a great PEER TUTOR! Peer Tutors help fellow students succeed in class. It is an elective where you earn credit while making a difference! Please see your counselor if you're interested in becoming a PEER TUTOR next semester.

CHOIR FUNDRAISER:  Come to UNA MAS Friday, November 20 from 5-10 p.m. Mention Choirs when you order.

ATTENTION ALL CANYON DRIVERS- We have 50 spots in the student parking lot available.  If you would like a parking permit pick up the paperwork outside of the ASB office.  You will need proof of current registration and insurance, $20, and the school paperwork.  First come, first served!

NHS:  There is an NHS meeting TODAY at lunch in G-105.

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY meets at lunch in C7 TODAY.

ANIME CLUB will be meeting TODAY in room G-220

There is a SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY meeting at lunch on Thursday, November 19th, in room D-2. We look forward to seeing you! Gracias!

CHECKMATES CHESS AND BOARD GAME CLUB meeting Wednesday and Fridays in G117.  Bring your lunch.  Chess lessons are available.

SENIORS

SENIORS:  Now is the time to start looking at scholarship information.  There are 12 scholarships due in December.  A few of the scholarships only require a 2.5 GPA.  Please take a look at the Canyon website, under scholarships, for more information and links!

SENIORS:  You can still order your Cap & Gown, Announcements, and Class Ring.  Jostens will be back on campus for a make-up order TODAY---During Brunches ONLY---OUTDOOR STAGE  Ordering information is available in the ASB Office NOW!!!  Be prepared to bring your completed order form and down payment on this day.  DON'T FORGET EVERY SENIOR MUST TURN IN THEIR CAP & GOWN SIZES on this day!   Remember that any Senior ordering their Class Ring on order day will receive their Cap & Gown for FREE!  See your catalog for details. 

CLASS RINGS:  If you ordered a class ring and received a card saying it is in, you may pick it up on November 18.
