GENERAL

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY:  Did you know lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death, and cigarette smoking causes most cases? On Thursday American Cancer Society is putting up a tobacco cemetery to show the severity of smoking. Join in the Great American Smokeout, and don't smoke on Thursday.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS: Do you enjoy helping others? Maybe you would make a great PEER TUTOR! Peer Tutors help fellow students succeed in class. It is an elective where you earn credit while making a difference! Please see your counselor if you're interested in becoming a PEER TUTOR next semester.

STUDENTS:  PLEASE DO NOT call or text your parents from a classroom or on campus to tell them you don’t feel well.  GET A PASS FROM YOUR TEACHER TO GO TO THE HEALTH OFFICE,

Mrs. Shwamb will call your parents from the Health Office.

BOYS GOLF TRYOUTS:  Boys interested in trying out for the 2010 Canyon Golf team must come to tryouts Tuesday and Thursday of this week at Vista Valencia between 2 and 4 o'clock. Please bring clubs, proper attire and $20 for green fees and range balls. See Coach Lee in E1 for details.

SOFTBALL TRYOUTS: Are TODAY, Tuesday, November 17 and Wednesday,

November 18 at North Oaks Park.  Time:  2:20 OR if you have a 7^th period class –tryouts are immediately after 7^th period.  Everyone MUST tryout—even returning players. 

SWIM TEAM TRYOUTS!!  Are you a fish out of water??? Then you need to join the Swim Team! Come to the "Tryout" Lunch Meeting on Nov 18th and find out what the Team is all about!  Room T-1. 12:25 LUNCH!!! Contact Coach Himes for any questions or www.hartdistrict.org/canyon/swim

ATTENTION ALL CANYON DRIVERS- We have 50 spots in the student parking lot available.  If you would like a parking permit pick up the paperwork outside of the ASB office.  You will need proof of current registration and insurance, $20, and the school paperwork.  First come, first served!

MEETINGS

OPERATION US: Our next meeting is this Tuesday at lunch.  We will be preparing for next week's Valley View presentation.  Be sure to bring your completed permission slips.  If you can not make it to the meeting, please stop by E3 before the meeting on Tuesday at lunch.

SENIORS

SENIORS:  Now is the time to start looking at scholarship information.  There are 12 scholarships due in December.  A few of the scholarships only require a 2.5 GPA.  Please take a look at the Canyon website, under scholarships, for more information and links!

SENIORS:  You can still order your Cap & Gown, Announcements, and Class Ring.  Jostens will be back on campus for a make-up order on……Wednesday, Nov. 18^th---During Brunches ONLY---OUTDOOR STAGE  Ordering information is available in the ASB Office NOW!!!  Be prepared to bring your completed order form and down payment on this day.  DON'T FORGET EVERY SENIOR MUST TURN IN THEIR CAP & GOWN SIZES on this day!   Remember that any Senior ordering their Class Ring on order day will receive their Cap & Gown for FREE!  See your catalog for details. 

CLASS RINGS:  If you ordered a class ring and received a card saying it is in, you may pick it up on November 18.
