GENERAL

ASB:  Attention all students interested in applying for Spring semester ASB- Applications will be available starting Monday November 8th outside the ASB office.  All applications are due by Friday November 13th.

AVID APPLICATIONS-- Are you a motivated, driven student who wants to attend a 4 year college after graduating from Canyon?  Are you the first in your family to go to college? This is a great opportunity to become part of Canyon's AVID program.  Applications are available in E5 at lunch or brunch and Ms. Jones will also answer any questions you have about joining AVID.  Stop by to visit her or pick up an application in E5- they are due next Friday!

BOYS’ GOLF TEAM:  All boys interested in the Canyon Boys golf team, there will be a meeting in E1 with Coach Lee on Thursday Nov. 12. This includes returning team members and new prospects. See you there!

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS WITH A YELLOW RENAISSANCE CARD:  We are offering a trip to Knotts Berry Farm on November 20th.  If you would like to go, pick up your permission slip outside the ASB office NOW.  Turn in your paperwork with $40 and show your renaissance card.  Space is limited.  Tickets are on sale until November 13 at lunch. 

COLLEGE OF THE CANYONS DANCE DEPARTMENT PRESENTS “CREATIONS!”  November 6, 2009 at 8 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at CoC.  Tickets are $5 and $10.  Come enjoy an evening of amazing talent, including Canyon graduate Hailee Bowden!

ATTENTION STUDENTS!!   Have you ever read a book, poem, essay or speech that really affected the way you view yourself or your world?  If so, then enter this year's Letters About Literature writing competition.  All you have to do is write a personal letter to an author explaining how his or her work affected you.  It must be between 500 and 800 words.  Your letter and your entry form must be turned into the library by Dec. 1, 2009.  See your English teacher or Mrs. Limbaugh in the library.

MEETINGS

BOOK CLUB:  We are finishing Memoirs of a Geisha this week.  Come to the meeting ready to discuss the ending of the book.  Also, bring your suggestions for the next book.

FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES meeting TODAY at lunch in Room G-206.

OPERATION US: We will be meeting in E3 at lunch on Tuesday to prepare for our next presentation.  All Operation US members are encouraged to attend.

CHECKMATES CHESS AND BOARD GAME CLUB meeting TODAY in G117.  Bring your lunch.  Chess lessons are available.

SPORTS

FOOTBALL:  Varsity @ 7:00 p.m., JV @ 4:00 p.m.  at Canyon—Golden Valley home game.

SENIORS

SENIORS:  You can still order your Cap & Gown, Announcements, and Class Ring.  Jostens will be back on campus for a make-up order on……Wednesday, Nov. 18^th---During Brunches ONLY---OUTDOOR STAGE  Ordering information is available in the ASB Office NOW!!!  Be prepared to bring your completed order form and down payment on this day.  DON'T FORGET EVERY SENIOR MUST TURN IN THEIR CAP & GOWN SIZES on this day!   Remember that any Senior ordering their Class Ring on order day will receive their Cap & Gown for FREE!  See your catalog for details.
