GENERAL

STUDENTS:  This is a gentle reminder to students—if you forget your ID and expect to leave campus at anytime during the day---you will be given a lunch detention!   There are no exceptions!!! 

ATTENTION SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY STUDENTS! The Papel Picado event is this Wednesday, November 4th. Please report to room T3 at 3:00 if you plan to attend. The event will last until 4:00. Gracias!

ATTENTION STUDENTS!!   Have you ever read a book, poem, essay or speech that really affected the way you view yourself or your world?  If so, then enter this year's Letters About Literature writing competition.  All you have to do is write a personal letter to an author explaining how his or her work affected you.  It must be between 500 and 800 words.  Your letter and your entry form must be turned into the library by Dec. 1, 2009.  See your English teacher or Mrs. Limbaugh in the library.

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS WITH A YELLOW RENAISSANCE CARD:  We are offering a trip to Knotts Berry Farm on November 20th.  If you would like to go, pick up your permission slip outside the ASB office NOW.  Turn in your paperwork starting Monday with $40 and show your renaissance card.  The first 54 students will be on the bus!

CAREER CENTER NEWS

HEALTH CARE CAREER SEMINAR:  Meet with representatives from Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital and learn about a variety of careers in the health care field!  The seminar will take place on Thurs., 11/5 during period 4.  Please note that the visitation has been changed from period 3 to period 4.  Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.

MEETINGS

KEY CLUB:  There is a General Meeting on Tuesday, November 3 in the Auxiliary Gym.

HEY BRAINSTORMERS!  It's time to start meeting again.  Come to D-5 Tuesday at lunch for our first meeting and game of the year!!

SENIORS

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION:  Students must give the counselors 7-10 days advance notice for letters of recommendations.  Make sure you complete a request for a letter of recommendation form before you give your application to your counselor.  (See Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office if you need a form).

MR. CANYON:  Hey all Senior Boys!!  Do you think you have what it takes to be the next Mr. Canyon, and then show us what you got!!  Applications are available now and they are due November 5^th.  Don’t be afraid to strut your stuff and try out!! 

CAP & GOWN AND GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

SENIORS:  It's time to start preparing for Graduation.  The first step is to order your Cap & Gown, Graduation Announcements, and other Senior memorabilia.

JOSTENS will be on campus accepting orders on:   Wednesday Nov. 4^th --During Government/ Econ Class      Outside the “B” Building

Ordering information has been distributed

 in your Government/Econ Class!!!

Be prepared to bring your completed order form and down payment on this day.  DON'T FORGET EVERY SENIOR MUST TURN IN THEIR CAP & GOWN SIZES on this day!

Remember that any Senior ordering their Class Ring on order day will receive their Cap & Gown for FREE!  See your catalog for details.
