GENERAL

SUPPLEMENTAL PROGRESS REPORTS:  If you would like to receive a supplemental progress report, please see Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office between 7:30am and 8:00am Friday morning to pick one up.  If you have a 7:00am class, you may pick one up today after your last class.

HALLOWEEN:  Halloween is right around the corner!!  Since it is on a Saturday, this Friday October 30 will be our costume day!  There will be a lunch activity—so don’t be afraid to dress up!  Remember --MASKS ARE NOT ALLOWED!!

THEATRE: Attention!!! Auditions for the spring musical "Guys and Dolls" will be held November 9th. A mandatory meeting about the process will be held Monday November 2nd at 3:15 in the Q-Theatre. If you cannot attend, you MUST see Mrs. Pechacek in the theatre prior to auditions.

STUDENTS:  This is a gentle reminder to students—if you forget your ID and expect to leave campus at anytime during the day---you will be given a lunch detention!   There are no exceptions!!!

AMECI’S PIZZA on the corner of Sierra Hwy and Soledad is hosting a CHEER DAY fundraiser TODAY.  Just show your ASB card with any order, and a percentage of all proceeds from the day will go to support Canyon Cheer.   Grab a bite for lunch or celebrate with a pizza after the Frosh Football team whoops up on West Ranch!!

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS WITH A YELLOW RENAISSANCE CARD:  We are offering a trip to Knotts Berry Farm on November 20th.  If you would like to go, pick up your permission slip outside the ASB office NOW.  Turn in your paperwork starting Monday with $40 and show your renaissance card.  The first 54 students will be on the bus!

CAREER CENTER NEWS

HEALTH CARE CAREER SEMINAR:  Meet with representatives from Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital and learn about a variety of careers in the health care field!  The seminar will take place on Thurs., 11/5 during period 3.  Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.

MEETINGS

BIBLE CLUB:  Meets in the Choir Room at lunch.

HUMAN TASK FORCE:  Meets in room G-201 at lunch.

CHECKMATES CHESS AND BOARD GAME CLUB MEETING FRIDAY IN G117:  Bring your lunch.  Chess lessons are available.

BOOK CLUB:  We are reading through chapter 23 in Memoirs of a Geisha.  We will meet in H1 on Friday to discuss it.  See you there.

SPORTS

FOOTBALL:  Frosh @ home--4:00 p.m.

GIRLS’ TENNIS:  Varsity @ West Ranch—3:00 p.m., JV @ La Mesa—3:00 p.m.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL:  @ Canyon—Frosh & JV—4:00 p.m., Varsity—5:15 p.m.

SENIORS

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION:  Students must give the counselors 7-10 days advance notice for letters of recommendations.  Make sure you complete a request for a letter of recommendation form before you give your application to your counselor.  (See Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office if you need a form).

CAP & GOWN AND GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

SENIORS:  It's time to start preparing for Graduation.  The first step is to order your Cap & Gown, Graduation Announcements, and other Senior memorabilia.

JOSTENS will be on campus accepting orders on:   Wednesday Nov. 4^th --During Government/ Econ Class      Outside the “B” Building

Ordering information has been distributed

 in your Government/Econ Class!!!

Be prepared to bring your completed order form and down payment on this day.  DON'T FORGET EVERY SENIOR MUST TURN IN THEIR CAP & GOWN SIZES on this day!

Remember that any Senior ordering their Class Ring on order day will receive their Cap & Gown for FREE!  See your catalog for details.
