FORMER MAYOR BOB KELLER TO VISIT CANYON HIGH SCHOOL: Tomorrow, October 1st, former mayor and current member of the Santa Clarita City Council Bob Keller will be visiting with students here at Canyon High School. As past mayor of Santa Clarita Bob Keller is well informed on the issues our city and valley face. Please join with the Young Politicians Club in welcoming this outstanding local leader to Canyon High, tomorrow, October 1st, in Room H-1 at lunch. Everyone is welcome and is encouraged to ask appropriate questions. See you tomorrow at lunch in H-1 as we welcome Mr. Keller to Canyon.
ATTENTION STUDENTS: A brand new Nissan Versa will be awarded to a Hart District student who maintains outstanding attendance and academic performance this school year.
Criteria for eligibility:
- 10th, 11th and 12th graders at the six Hart District comprehensive high schools
- 3.0 gpa
- 95% attendance rate since Oct. 7, 2009
- No out of school suspensions while enrolled in Hart District

CAREER CENTER NEWS
NATIONAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE FAIR: Students and parents are invited to The National Christian College Fair, which will take place TODAY from 6:00 - 8:00 at Marantha High School in Pasadena. Representatives from 30+ Christian colleges will participate! Stop by the Career Center for additional details.
BOSTON UNIVERSITY INFORMATION MEETING: Boston University will host two information sessions in the Los Angeles area during October. Admissions representatives will discuss topics such as programs, financial aid and campus life. Stop by the Career Center for additional information or to check times, locations and sign up, go to www.bu.edu/receptions.
WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY IN ST. LOUIS INFORMATION SESSION: Admissions representatives from Washington University in St. Louis will meet with prospective students and their parents on Sun., 10/18 from Noon - 1:00 at the Director's Guild of America in Los Angeles. Stop by the Career Center for registration information.
FIDM VISITATION: Meet with a representative from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising on Tues., 10/6 at 11:25 in Room H1 and learn about programs in fashion design and merchandising, graphic design, interior design and more! Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.
UCLA PERFORMING & VISUAL ARTS INFORMATION MEETING: Students interested in learning about the School of Arts and Architecture and Herb Alpert School of Music at UCLA are invited to attend an Information Meeting on Sun., 10/11 in the Broad Art Center at UCLA.
