GENERAL

Win up to $7000 in scholarship money.  That's right, Seven Thousand Dollars.  The Castaic Lake Water Agency is sponsoring the Water Challenge Scholarship Program and there are over $15,000 in prizes.  Come to an informational meeting at 12:30 on Tuesday, September 15th in room K-5 to learn how YOU can be a winner and take advantage of this awesome opportunity.

DISNEYLAND TICKET RAFFLE:  Cowboys, are you ready for a trip to Disneyland?  There will be a raffle for a chance to win a set of 4 student tickets.  There are 15 sets, so you have 15 chances to win!  Raffle tickets are $1 each and you can buy them from any ASB member.  Tickets will be sold thru September 18.

HEY COWBOYS!  Want free donuts?  Come to J-1 at either brunch this week.  Monday, September 14 through Thursday, September 17 and give us your cell phone number.  We’ll send a text message with a password, and the first 40 to come back with the password will receive a free treat!!  It is that easy!

HEALTH OFFICE:  When you are ill, you must get a pass from your teacher to come up to the Health Office.  It is there that contact will be made with your parents/guardians to arrange for you to go home.  Do not call or text your parents or guardians from the classroom expecting to be summoned to the Health Office.

This will be the final day to receive your FREE  2011 HOODIE when you order your class ring!!  

SCHOOL PICTURES ARE HERE!  School Pictures can be picked up during brunch and lunch in the ASB classroom.

PICTURE MAKE UP DAY will be on September 25th in H-1

PRACTICE SAT ON SEPT 19TH-- Seniors!  Are you stressing about the SATs?  Before you take the real test, take a practice test with Ms. Jones in E5 on Sept 19th.  The test will run from 9 am to 1 pm and be held in E5.  This is NOT the PSAT; it's just a practice test that will help you prep for the real thing.  All Canyon students are welcome!

INFORMATION SESSIONS:  The following schools will hold Information Sessions in the Los Angeles area: 

Oberlin College - Tues., 9/15 in Los Angeles

Tufts - Sun., 9/27 in Universal City

Tulane University - Sun., 10/8 in Santa Monica

Carnegie Mellon on 10/18 in Pasadena and Tues., 10/20 in Agoura

CSUN VISITATION:  Attention Seniors:  Meet with an admissions representative from CSUN and learn about the Cal State system on Tues., 9/22 at 10:30 in the Library.  Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.

MIT INFORMATION SESSION:  Are you interested in learning about Massachusetts Institute of Technology?  Parents and students are invited to meet with admissions representatives from MIT on Tues., 9/29 in Santa Monica or Saturday, September 26 in Long Beach.  Stop by the Career Center for details.

NROTC SCHOLARSHIP MEETING:  Are you interested in applying for an NROTC Scholarship?  Meet with a representative from the Marines on Wed., 9/16 at 11:30 in Room H1 to learn about the application process.  Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.

WESTMONT COLLEGE VISITATION:  An admissions representative from Westmont College, located in Santa Barbara, will meet with students on Thurs., 9/17 at 11:30 in Room H1.  Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.

MEETINGS

DO YOU WANT TO HELP AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY? Then come to C7 at lunch Wed. Sept. 16 to find out about joining American Cancer Society. We would love your support! Former members need to come as well.

SENIORS

SENIORS BBQ:  The Senior BBQ is TODAY at lunch on the Senior Quad.  Come to the “J” building during your brunch to pick up your wristband.  You will need the wristband along with your ID card to get in.  See you there!!! 

CAL STATE APPLICATION WORKSHOP:  Attention Seniors:  Are you thinking about applying to a Cal State School?  Attend the Cal State Application Workshop on Tuesday, 9/22 at 11:20 and learn about the application procedure.  Sign up in the Career Center!
