GENERAL
HEALTH OFFICE: When you are ill, you must get a pass from your teacher to come up to the Health Office. It is there that contact will be made with your parents/guardians to arrange for you to go home. Do not call or text your parents or guardians from the classroom expecting to be summoned to the Health Office.
SCHOOL PICTURES ARE HERE! School Pictures can be picked up during brunch and lunch in the ASB classroom.
CONGRATULATIONS to the Women's Chamber Ensemble, Men's Chamber Ensemble, Concert Choir, and Madrigals. These choirs auditioned and were selected to perform at the California Music Educator's Convention in Sacramento in March! What an honor! Great job, choirs!
If you were a friend of Nick Pruett, a Canyon student who passed away last year, please come to the counseling office during lunch today and sign a yearbook in his memory. Nick's father has asked that we help him with this special keepsake. The yearbook will be available in Mrs. Smith's office lunch and afterschool. Please stop by.
THE DISTRICT 1 COLLEGE FAIR EXTRAORDINAIRE will take place on Saturday, September 12 from 9:00 am-12:00 pm on the Pierce College Campus. Students and parents will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from over 100 universities. There will also be several workshops concerning financial aid, SAT and ACT preparation, UC and CSU admissions advice, and information for immigrant students. There will also be a free barbecue. We're looking forward to seeing you there!

TARDY LOCKOUT: Students that go through Tardy Lockout without their ID will get an automatic lunch detention. Students leaving campus at lunch time without an ID will also get a lunch detention.
PRACTICE SAT ON SEPT 19TH-- Seniors! Are you stressing about the SATs? Before you take the real test, take a practice test with Ms. Jones in E5 on Sept 19th. The test will run from 9 am to 1 pm and be held in E5. This is NOT the PSAT; it's just a practice test that will help you prep for the real thing. All Canyon students are welcome!

NROTC SCHOLARSHIP MEETING: Are you interested in applying for an NROTC Scholarship? Meet with a representative from the Marines on Wed., 9/16 at 11:30 in Room H1 to learn about the application process. Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.
MEETINGS
BOOK CLUB: The Book Club will be meeting TODAY during lunch in H1. This week we will finish our discussion on The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. We will choose the next book for discussion. Everyone is welcome. Bring your lunch and come on down!
