CLASS RING ORDER:   

JUNIORS!  It’s time for your class to order their class rings.  Your class ring will rank high in the commemoratives of your “2011” Graduation.   Order now and receive your ring this Fall.

YOUR JOSTENS REPRESENTATIVE WILL BE ON CAMPUS FOR YOUR CLASS RING ORDER ON:

                                    A-M Thursday, Sept. 10th

                                    N-Z Friday, Sept. 11th

                                    During Brunches and Lunch

                                    On the Outdoor Stage    

EVERY student ordering on these order days will receive a FREE “2011” Hoodie!!

ORDERING INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE IN THE ASB OFFICE NOW!!  BE SURE TO LOOK YOURS OVER BEFORE ORDERING DAY.  Visit www.jostens.com to view an online catalog and design your ring for additional savings!.

BRING YOUR ORDER FORM AND $60.00 DEPOSIT ON THIS DATE.  

 

WIFFLE BALL sign ups are taking place right now in room C-5.  Teams can include 4 members. All players welcome... co-ed teams, teacher teams, bring your friends to C-5 at both brunches and lunch and sign up.  Wiffle Ball is so easy Mr. Motherspaw could play. 

 

ATTENTION STUDENTS: Are you interested in participating in Make a Difference Day on

Sat., Oct 24, 2009?  Please stop by the office and pick up application in the Administrative Office.  This event is a community service project sponsored by the City of Santa Clarita and HandsOn Santa Clarita.  You may also see Mr. Getz for more details.

 

ARE YOU IN AN ATHLETIC/EXTRACURRICULAR PROGRAM OR HAVE AN OPEN 7th PERIOD?  Some of you have received a 6th period sticker, but not a 7th.  If you did not receive a 7th period sticker, please come by the Assistant Principals offices with your ID and have your sticker put on as you wait, or drop off your ID to pick up later.  We apologize for the inconvenience.  It was our error.

 

DISNEYLAND TICKET RAFFLE:  Cowboys, are you ready for a trip to Disneyland?  There will be a raffle for a chance to win a set of 4 student tickets.  There are 15 sets, so you have 15 chances to win!  Raffle tickets are $1.00 each and you can buy them from any ASB Member.  Tickets will be sold thru September 18.

 

THE COUNSELING OFFICE will accept Pass/Fail forms through 9/11/09 this semester. You still have time to submit one.

 

TEXTBOOK DAMAGE WAIVER FORMS are due by Friday, September 4.  Drop them off in the blue bins in the textbook center or library.

 

ADULT AND JUNIOR ASB CARDS:  Are now in and available to pick up in the ASB Office—before school, brunch and lunch. 

 

 

CAREER CENTER NEWS

 

CAL STATE APPLICATION WORKSHOP:  Attention Seniors:  Are you thinking about applying to a Cal State School?  Attend the Cal State Application Workshop on Tuesday, 9/22 at 11:20 and learn about the application procedure.  Sign up in the Career Center!

 

COSTUMER CAREER SEMINAR:  Are you interested in designing costumes for theater or TV?  Attend the Costumer Career Seminar on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 10:30 in Room H1 and meet with a costumer who has worked on a variety of TV shows and theater productions.  Learn about educational requirements, work environment and more!  Career Seminars are open to students in grades 9 - 12 and permission slips are available in the Career Center.

 

COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY:  Explore Colorado State University on Fri., Sept. 25.  Admissions representatives will discuss campus life, majors and financial aid.  The meeting will take place in the Career Center at 9:20.  Stop by the Career Center to pick up a permission slip.

 

DISCOVER DUKE PROGRAM:  Meet with an admissions representative from Duke University and learn about programs, financial aid and campus life at Duke.  The meeting will take place on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 3:00 at the Pasadena Hilton.  Register at www.admissions.duke.edu or stop by the Career Center for details.

 

U.S. MARINES VISITATION:  Are you interested in joining the Marines?  Meet with a recruiter from the U.S. Marines during lunch on Wednesday, 9/16 on the outdoor stage and learn about career opportunities. 

 

MEETINGS

 

CHECKMATES CHESS AND BOARD GAME CLUB meeting Wednesday and Fridays in G117.  Bring your lunch.  Chess lessons are available.

 

HEY SPANISH 3 AND AP SPANISH STUDENTS:  Spanish Honor Society is having its first meeting TODAY.  Come and find out what we are all about.  iMuchas Gracias!

 

INTERESTED IN HUMAN RIGHTS?  Want to learn more about genocide, child soldiers, and juvenile justice?  Come to the student Task Force meeting, TODAY at lunch in room G-201.  New members welcome.

 

HEY KEY CLUBBERS:  There is a make-up meeting on September 11.  If you want to be on the Executive Board, go to V-1 on Sept. 18.  All new and old members need a registration sheet.

SENIOR FUN PACK:  Hey Seniors, it’s not too late to purchase your Senior Fun Pack.  Senior Fun Packs include your senior T-shirt, Senior BB-Q, Senior Picnic, Grad night and more!!!  Don’t miss out on this deal!  Fun Packs are $180 and are available in the ASB Office. 

 

SENIOR CLASS FLOAT:  Hey Seniors!  If you’re interested in participating in this year’s Homecoming Float come to G-101* on Friday, September 4 during lunch.  Our hero is Spiderman, so feel free to bring any ideas you might have!  Remember it is our last year, so let’s try and make it the best!!  GO CLASS OF 2010.  * Please note classroom change.
