GENERAL
ALL STUDENTS that have an open period or an athletics/ROTC/extracurricular activity will need their ID to reflect this. These are new instructions to process your ID.
Each BRUNCH please go to the table outside of the Counseling door.
- Those that have their schedule may get an open sticker instantly as time permits.
- Those who do not have their schedule, or can pick up their ID later, can drop their ID off at the table. The first 150 turned in will be processed and ready for pick up at that same table during lunch.
You may drop off your ID DURING BRUNCH any day the entire week of August 24th through
August 28th.
IDs dropped off to any other person or place will NOT be processed, so please adhere to the above instructions.
STUDENTS: If you are enrolled in the free/reduced lunch program you are also eligible to receive a free breakfast. Just go to the cafeteria before 8:00 and show your ID card. Any questions see Mrs. Haro in the AP Office.
ALL 10TH GRADERS: Support your class for an awesome Homecoming Float!! Come to K-1 on Tuesday, August 25 during lunch. We will have snacks for you!!!
ATTENTION STUDENTS!! Operation US will be beginning on Thursday of this week! Operation US is a community service group that trains Canyon students to go to elementary schools and put on a workshop about prejudice, stereotyping and discrimination. We are seeking students to present and/ or work with small groups of sixth graders. We present and local elementary schools and maybe even the one you attended. Please join us for an informational meeting this Thursday at lunch in E3. If you have any questions please see Ms. Mast in E3 or Mr. Ballard in A7. New and returning members are encouraged to attend.
CELL PHONE USE: Please be aware that the use of cell phones for any purpose is not allowed in the library. Your phone will be confiscated and returned at a later time. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

REVOLUTION SAT PREP COURSE: Listen up juniors and seniors! College applications are almost due, but if your SAT scores need help, it's not too late. Revolution Prep teaches classes right here on campus and they're starting soon. Visit revolutionprep.com for more information or stop by to see Ms. Jones in E5. She teaches the course, so she can definitely answer your questions. Don't delay- classes start in just 2 weeks!
CAREER CENTER NEWS
COSTUMER CAREER SEMINAR: Are you interested in designing costumes for theater or TV? Attend the Costumer Career Seminar on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 10:30 in Room H1 and meet with a costumer who has worked on a variety of TV shows and theater productions. Learn about educational requirements, work environment and more! Career Seminars are open to students in grades 9 - 12 and permission slips are available in the Career Center.
MEETINGS
SPEECH AND DEBATE: We will start meeting after school on Tuesdays. This week we will meet from 2:30- 3:30 only. Tuesday, Sept. 1 we will meet from 3:00 - 4:30. After that, we will meet from 3:00 - 5:00. Should you have any questions, please come to the library and see Mrs. Limbaugh.
NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY will meet at lunch Wednesday (Aug. 26th) in room T4. All members must attend, new members welcome.
