You must attend 1 of the 5 preadministration sessions. Please have a pencil, and if attending during first or second period, please come straight to B lecture. Your period absence will be cleared. Otherwise, please attend the lunch session.

THE BOY’S BASKETBALL PROGRAM is hosting open tryouts for anyone interested in participating in the summer basketball program.  The tryouts begin this Wednesday at Lunch in the Main Gym.  If you have any questions, please see Coach Phillips in G-116 at brunch or lunch.

PROM TICKETS ON SALE: ALL upperclassmen can now purchase Prom Tickets.  Cost: $235 per couple. Ticket sales end Friday, May 1.

CAREER CENTER NEWS

SCV YOUTH IN GOVERNMENT SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:  There are a limited number of SCV Youth in Government Summer Internship opportunities available.  Learn how your government affects you and how decisions are made in the City and beyond.  Interested must apply by May 22.  Stop by the Career Center for details!

COC JOB AND CAREER FAIR:  COC will host a Job and Career Fair on Wednesday, May 6 at their Valencia campus and Wednesday, May 13 at the Canyon Country campus.  The fairs will take place

from 11 - 2 and flyers are available in the Career Center.

APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITY:  The Motion Picture Industry Joint Apprenticeship Committee will accept applications for apprenticeships in the occupation of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning Mechanic from May 11 - May 15.  Applications must be picked up in Van Nuys and turned in during that time period.  Stop by the Career Center for details.

SENIORS

SENIORS:  Planning to attend CSUN this fall?  You MUST electronically submit an "Intent to Register" online at www.csun.edu no later than 5PM on June 15th.  Counseling office has more details on how to file and also about the English Placement Test & Entry Level Math test.

TIM AND DANNY RENOLDS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:  The Renolds Family is proud to award a $500 scholarship to a senior male athlete with a GPA BETWEEN  2.5-3.0 who is planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college.  Applications available in the counseling office.  Deadline is May 8, 2009.
