STAR TESTING SCHEDULE

Teachers and students will report to their Period 3 locations at 8 am each day for testing.

April 21 (Tuesday):                    Testing/Minimum Day Block Schedule                        

Period 1=7:20-7:55

                                                Language Arts CST =8:00-10:30

                                                Brunch=10:30-10:45

                                                Passing time=10:45-10:51

                                                Period 2=10:51-11:30

                                                Passing time=11:30-11:36

                                                Period 5=11:36-12:15

CHS DANCE TEAM AUDITION WILL BE SATURDAY, MAY 2.   A MANDATORY PARENT MEETING WILL BE HELD TUESDAY, APRIL 21...STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFO AFTER SPRING BREAK!

ROP STUDENTS OF THE YEAR AWARDS

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING CANYON HIGH STUDENTS FOR WINNING MEDALS AT THE ROP STUDENT OF THE YEAR DINNER HELD ON April 14,2009:  NICK BOWLING  - BRONZE MEDAL / IN MR. MCINTYRE'S COMPUTER ASSISTED DRAFTING CLASS. 

TREAVOR SELLNOW - BRONZE MEDAL / IN THE ROP ENTERTAINMENT CLASS.  DANIEL STOREY - BRONZE MEDAL / IN THE ROP EXPLORING ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY CLASS.  ASHLEY VALENZUELA HUGHES - SILVER MEDAL / IN THE ROP  LAW ACADEMY CLASS,  AND ALEXANDRA VATCHKOVA - SILVER MEDAL /FOR MR' LEE'S  ROP GRAPHIC ARTS CLASS.

STUDENT TALENT RALLY:  Got Talent???  Are you interested in performing in Canyon’s student talent rally--it is May 22.  If you are interested, come to the ASB Office to sign up.  The Sign –Up sheet will be posted starting next week.  Don’t hold back that hidden talent. 

PROM TICKETS ON SALE: ALL upperclassmen can now purchase Prom Tickets.  Cost: $200 per couple with ASB card and $210 per couple without ASB card.  The price goes up on April 22—it will be a flat rate of $235 per couple. 

ROP SUMMER SCHOOL: STOP BY THE ROP OFFICE AND SEE WHICH CLASSES WILL BE OFFERED FOR SUMMER SCHOOL.

MEETINGS

ATTENTION SPEECH AND DEBATE:  There will be an important meeting Today at 12:15 p.m. in H1.

SENIORS

SENIORS:  Planning to attend CSUN this fall?  You MUST electronically submit an "Intent to Register" online at www.csun.edu no later than 5PM on June 15th.  Counseling office has more details on how to file and also about the English Placement Test & Entry Level Math test.

HEY SENIOR COWBOYS:  Have you enjoyed your years at Canyon?  Will you be hard to forget?  You can apply for the Canyon Staff Scholarship.  Pick up an application in the Counseling office or in

room G-105.

THE CANYON ACADEMIC BOOSTER CLUB is awarding scholarships to Canyon Seniors who plan to attend a 2 or 4-year college, and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.  Note, your parents must be members of the Academic Booster Club to be considered.  Extracurricular activities and community service involvement will be evaluated.  Please pick up this one-page application from the Counseling office, due to be returned by May 1, 2009.

WERE YOU EVER PART OF THE English Language Development (ELD) Program here at Canyon?  THE CANYON ACADEMIC BOOSTER CLUB is awarding scholarships to Canyon Seniors who learned English as a Second Language here in the ELD program, plan to attend a 2 or 4-year college, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Please pick up this one-page application from the Counseling office, due to be returned by May 1, 2009.
