GENERAL

PROM TICKETS ON SALE FOR SENIOR FUN PACK HOLDERS ONLY:  TODAY AND TUESDAY, APRIL 14.  After those dates ALL upperclassmen can purchase Prom Tickets.  Cost: $200 per couple with ASB card and $210 per couple without ASB card. 

ATTENTION ALL FRESHMAN, SOPHOMORES, AND JUNIORS:  Are you interested in being a commissioner in ASB for the 09-10 school year.  If you are there will be an informational meeting on Wed. April 15th in J-7 at lunch.  Applications will be handed out to anyone that is interested in applying.  You must attend this meeting to get an application.   See you there!

NEW BOOKS ALERT!!  Here are some of the new books in the library:  Game by Walter Dean Myers, Bone Chiller by Graham McNamee, The Other Side of Truth by Beverly Naido, DopeSick by Walter Dean Myers, The Traitor's Gate by Avi, Behind the Bedroom Wall by Laura E. Williams, The Secret Hour by Scott Westerfeld, The White Darkness by Geraldine McCaughrean, The Alchemyst by Michael Scott, and Homeboyz by Walter Dean Myers.  Come in and check one out.

MORE NEW BOOKS:- Yeah!! The following new books are in the library for check out:  Endymion Spring by Matthew Skelton, the host by Stephanie Meyer, The White Tiger by Aravind Adiaga, and The Magician by Michael Scott.

AWARDS BANQUET COMING SOON!  If you earned a 3.5 or higher grade point average for Fall Semester 2008, you should have received an invitation to the Spring Academic Awards Banquet to be held on Thursday, April 30.  Deadline to turn in RSVP to Mrs. Nelson and purchase dinner tickets from ASB is FRIDAY, APRIL 17.  No tickets will be sold at the door.  Please contact Mrs. Pam Thompson in the AP Office if you have any questions.

ATTENTION STUDENTS WITH AN OPEN 7^TH PERIOD: You will have to exit campus through the Attendance Gate or the Student Parking Gate ONLY!  There will be NO MORE EXIT thru the gate near North Oaks Park. 

CHS DANCE TEAM AUDITION WILL BE SATURDAY, MAY 2.   A MANDATORY PARENT MEETING WILL BE HELD TUESDAY, APRIL 21...STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFO AFTER SPRING BREAK!

CAREER CENTER NEWS

VENTURA/TRI COUNTY NATIONAL COLLEGE FAIR:  Admission representatives from 120+ colleges and universities will participate in the Ventura/Tri County National College Fair on Wednesday, April 22 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.  Students will also have an opportunity to attend a variety of workshops.  Pick up flyers in the Career Center.

DISCOVERING CAREERS DAY:  Explore your options!  Meet with business representatives, participate in hands-on activities and attend breakout sessions at Discovering Careers Day on Saturday, April 25 from 9 - 1 at COC.  Money 101 is a breakout session that will teach you about finances!  Pick up a flyer in the Career Center.

SENIORS

COC PLACEMENT TEST:  Students who signed up to take the COC Placement Test at Canyon will receive a pass today.  If you do not receive a pass and you signed up to take the placement test, please see Mrs. Head in the Career Center.

CSF—SENIORS:  The Seal Bearer list has been posted outside C-8.  If you want to apply for one of the scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000, pick up a scholarship application in C-8.  Applications will be accepted until Thursday, April 16 at 1:00.
