SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY APPLICATIONS are due TODAY! ¡Atención! Don't forget to get your current Spanish grade from your teacher or counselor. Today at lunch in D1 is the DUE date for ALL your paperwork for attendance, events, and community service hours. No exceptions! ¡Hasta PRONTO!
OFF-CAMPUS PASSES: Over the past couple of weeks juniors and seniors have been coming into the main office for a pass to leave at lunchtime if they do not have their ID card. You may not leave campus until 1:00 if your ID is lost, stolen or forgotten and only then with a copy of your schedule.
FOOD DAY is March 25 at lunch on the Outdoor Stage. There will be pizza, Chinese, tacos and Jamba Juice.
POWDER PUFF FOOTBALL: Hey Cowboys—Canyon is having a Powder Puff Football game for all Junior and senior girls. Come out and be tough and play some football. And guys—show us your hidden Cheerleading talent! Pick up applications outside the ASB Office--don’t forget they are due March 27!!!!

SUMMER ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT PROGRAM AT CSUN: A Summer Enrichment Program will take place at CSUN June 29 - July 31. Stop by the Career Center for a brochure or go to www.saep.net for detailed course descriptions.
MEETINGS
OPERATION US will be meeting this Friday at lunch in E3. We will be distributing permission slips and preparing to present at Fair Oaks Elementary School on April 15th and 16th. All Operation US students are encouraged to attend! See you this Friday at lunch.
SENIORS
COC INFORMATION SESSION: Attention Seniors: Are you planning to attend COC this fall? A COC Information Session has been scheduled for TODAY at 11:25 in the Library. You must attend the information session in order to take the Placement Test which will be administered at Canyon in April. Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.
SENIOR STARS: If you have been accepted to a 4-year college or university and plan on attending that school in the fall, please see Mrs. Hettema in the counseling office. We will make a star in your honor and place it in the new showcase cabinet outside the Counseling Office. Also, if you have received notice of any scholarships or awards, please let Mrs. Hettema know.
SENIORS: The Civil Service Employees Insurance Company will award up to two $1,000 and eight $500 scholarships, based on an essay discussing ways the teenage automobile accident rate can be reduced. So... if you have a 3.0 GPA and your parent or legal guardian is a peace officer, firefighter, educator, postal employee, military personnel, or federal, state or local government worker, you must apply today!! Applications are available in the counseling office. Deadline is April 6, 2009.
SENIORS: Are you a male senior planning to go to USC? Then apply for the George Woolery Triangle Achievement Scholarship. Candidates will be evaluated on three criteria: academic success, demonstrated leadership, and excellence in organized athletics. For more information contact Steven Zhu [email protected] or come pick up an application in the counseling office. Deadline is April 5, 2009.
