GENERAL

CAHSEE testing is this Tuesday and Wednesday, March 17 and 18.  All 10th graders take the test, as well as any 11th or 12th graders who have not yet passed.  This is a very important test, which is required for graduation!  Students, you will receive notification of your testing location in 2nd period on Monday.  The test begins at 8 am each day.  Students, make sure you are well rested and eat a good breakfast on the days of the test.  You will stay in the testing location until the end of the testing period, so bring a book to read in case you finish early.  Go Canyon! 

ATTENTION WANNA-BE ROCK STARS: Have you always wanted to be the next American Idol? A Rock Star? Win 50 bucks? All three? Then get yourself or a group of friends together to compete in the Thespian Society's Lip Synch Competition! Pick any school appropriate song to show a preliminary panel of judges what you've got on Friday March 27th at 3:15 in the Q-Theatre. If selected, you'll perform in front of an audience on April 10th at 6 PM for a chance to win $50. Sign up in the Q-Theatre today!!!

RALLY:  Friday, March 20 will be the ROCK OUT RALLY.  Canyon Spring Sports, Dance Team, Band, Improve and more will be your entertainment.  So be ready to rock in your rock start outfits to

KEY CLUB EVENT:  Hey Key Clubbers!  If you would like to volunteer at the New Leash On Life Animal Shelter, then please go to room V-1 to sign up!

KEY CLUB AGENDAS:  If you did not get an agenda at our last meeting, then you can pick one up in V-1.

SUMMER SCHOOL FORMS:  Summer school forms have arrived and are available in the Front Office by Mrs. Ruppert.  You may come by before or after school, or during brunch or lunch to pick up the forms.  Priority registration will be given to students who return their forms to the Front Office by June 4, 2009.  Parent signatures are required on the forms.

BLOOD DRIVE:  Be a stud and give us your blood again! Canyon High school is hosting another Blood Drive on March 20th! Permission slips are in room G-105 Hurry and turn those in. WE NEED YOUR HELP

Attention 9th and 10th graders applying for the AVID program.  AVID applications are due to room C4 by TODAY.  Teacher recommendations should go to teachers who will return them to Mrs. Delawder.  Applications should go directly to room C4.  Late applications will not be accepted.

MORP: Canyon if we don’t sell 150 tickets for MORP by next Tuesday it will be cancelled. If you want a dance, buy your tickets now!!!!  $10 with an ASB Card, $12 without an ASB Card and $20 at the door.  This is FOR CANYON STUDENTS ONLY!!

RENAISSANCE CARD HOLDERS: Your Disneyland trip is March 20, the cost is $70 and you can pick up trip slips outside the ASB office. The first 108 students to turn in their paperwork and money will go.

POWDER PUFF FOOTBALL:  Hey Cowboys—Canyon is having a Powder Puff Football game for all Junior and senior girls.  Come out and be tough and play some football.  And guys—show us your hidden Cheerleading talent!  Start picking up your applications March 9 outside the ASB Office---don’t forget they are due March 27!!!!

CAREER CENTER NEWS

COC INFORMATION SESSION:  Attention Seniors:  Are you planning to attend COC this fall?  A COC Information Session has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 24 at 11:25 in the Library.  You must attend the information session in order to take the Placement Test which will be administered at Canyon in April.  Pick up permission slips in the Career Center. 

MEETINGS

127 BIBLE CLUB:  meets in the Choir Room at lunch today.
