GENERAL

PAJAMA BOTTOM DAY:  Come “ Comfy and Cozy” to school on Friday, February 27—because it’s PAJAMA BOTTOM DAY!!!  Keep in mind that you are at school, so the dress code still applies!!!

CAN FOOD DRIVE:  This is the last week of the Can Food Drive!!  Remember the 3^rd period class with the most cans wins a bagel party!

WINTER FORMAL PICTURES are here!! Come claim yours in the ASB office during brunch and lunch only!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Garrett Cervetto for winning first place in Original Prose and Poetry in the Tri Valley Individual Events competition held Saturday at West Ranch High School.  He picket fenced which means he earned first place in all three rounds.  Congratulations also go out to Cynthia Lapos for winning an Excellent Certificate in Oratorical Interpretation and to Jazmin Siebert for winning a Superior Certificate in Oratorical Interpretation.

RENAISSANCE CARD HOLDERS: Your Disneyland trip is March 20, the cost is $70 and you can pick up trip slips outside the ASB office. The first 108 students to turn in their paperwork and money will go.

ACADEMY OF THE CANYONS:  Representatives from Academy of the Canyons will be in the Quad tomorrow at lunch to answer any questions you may have about the AOC Program.  Please stop by their table and pick up a flyer about upcoming informational meetings for any student considering making a change and getting a headstart on college, tuition free

Are you intrigued about the creative worlds of FASHION and Business? FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) is offering a 3-day summer program at its 4 campuses in CA.  Check it out at www.fidm.edu/summer program. Also see poster in Counseling Office.

DIVE, DUCK, DODGE, AND DIVE!  Dodge Balls sign ups are going this week in C-5!  Sign yourself or your Dodge Ball team up in C-5.  All are welcome! 

MOCK SAT-- Juniors, sophomores, and freshmen- listen up!  On Saturday Feb 28th, the AVID program will sponsor a $20 mock SAT exam.  This is a great way for you to take the SAT for a test drive, and for less than a third of the price of the actual test!  You must sign up online though, so visit revolutionprep.com or see Ms. Jones in E5 for more information.  Don't delay- spaces are limited! 

2010 YEARBOOK STAFF: Yearbook is more than "taking pictures," to be honest its hard work, and you don't even get paid! BUT... if you're still interested and you're a hard working Junior or Sophomore who is up to the challenge, then get an application from T2 or the Counseling office. Submit your applications to Mr. McCann or a current yearbook staff member by the end of March.

Do you need to re-take Chemistry A to replace a previous D or F grade? If so, Math Support Services

EXECUTIVE SPEECHES:  TODAY come to the Outdoor Stage and listen to your future Executive Officers give their speech. 

VOTING:  Don’t forget to vote for your 2009-2010 Executive Officers Thursday, February 26 at lunch

LETTERMAN JACKET SIZING: Wednesday, March 11th, Bruches only on the outdoor stage.

MEETINGS

THESPIAN SOCIETY MEMBERS: There will be a meeting on Wed. Feb. 23rd at lunch in the Q-Theatre. Be sure to attend as we will be taking yearbook photos.

CHECKMATES....we will meet in G-117 Wed and Friday at lunch...all are invited..if you do not know how to play, we will teach you...questions ask Mr. Clark in G-117

NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY MEETING TODAY at lunch in room T4. All members must attend.

POKEMON CLUB COMPETITION:  Attention all Pokemon Diamond and Pearl trainers, don’t forget to sign up for the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Competition this Thursday.  Sign up in room E-4.

CAREER CENTER NEWS

COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY INFORMATION SESSION:  Have you thought about applying to Colorado State University? Admissions representatives will discuss topics such as programs, financial aid, housing and student life on Saturday, February 28 in Glendale from 2:00 - 3:30.  You may stop by the Career Center for details or call (818) 956-5466 to register.

SENIORS

DIPLOMA NAMES:  All seniors need to check the diploma name list on the bulletin board outside the Health Office to make sure that their name is spelled correctly and that it is their legal name.  If you find an error, please see Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office immediately so that a correction can be made.  Otherwise, your name will appear on your diploma as it is written on this list.  All changes and corrections need to be made by 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2009.  Copies of birth certificates are required for all changes.

ATTENTION SENIORS:  Are you planning to attend COC this fall?  A COC Information Session has been scheduled for Today at 11:25 in the Library.  You must attend the information session in order to take the Placement Test which will be administered at Canyon in April.  Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.
