LIBRARY CLOSES AT 3:00 TODAY!
LIONS CLUB SPEECH CONTEST: All students participating in the Lion's Club Speech contest need to sign up with Mrs. Limbaugh in the library by Friday. The school contest will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 3:15 in H1.
KEY CLUB: Hey Key Clubbers!!! Your attendance sheets are due this week. The best day to turn them in is on Friday, February 6. Please turn in your forms in room V-1.
AP PSYCHOLOGY 2009-2010: Interested in the field of Psychology? This AP course will be open to Juniors and Seniors only. Topics discussed will be: Psychological disorders, personality, States of Consciousness, Emotion and Motivation, Social Psychology. Sensation and Perception and Abnormal Psychology. Please see Mr. Wolman in room G 210 to sign up
ALL SPEECH AND DEBATE MEMBERS: be aware that February 21 is the last open IE competition before state qualifications. Be sure you compete in this tournament!!!!
FOOD DRIVE: Listen up all 3rd period classmates. ASB is holding their annual food drive all through the month of February. Lets help out those who are less fortunate by bringing in canned food and sealed toiletries. The 3rd period class with the most items will win a bagel party.
PROM FASHION SHOW: Attention all Juniors and Seniors. If you are interested in participating in this year’s Prom Fashion Show, pick up an application at the ASB Office. All applications are due at the ASB Office by February 6.
JAZZ/POP: Jazz/Pop auditions are coming soon! Be sure to "get your act together"! If you missed the Jazz/Pop meeting last week, please see Mrs. Purdy in the choir room who will answer any questions you might have. Remember, Jazz/Pop auditions are open to the whole school!
VAL-O-GRAMS: Do you want to celebrate Valentine's Day in a big way? Do you have a special someone (friend or boyfriend/girlfriend) here at Canyon that you would like to honor? The choirs have just the thing for you. Val-o-grams will go on sale tomorrow. Ask any choir student about them. They cost $7. For that low cost, your special person will receive a song sung by some of the Madrigals, a chocolate lollipop, a flower, a balloon, and something to treasure always! Come to the choir room for more information.
ATTENTION CSF MEMBERS: We will begin accepting applications and hour sheets beginning today and ending February 6.
CAREER CENTER NEWS
CALIFORNIA STATE SUMMER SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS: The California State Summer School for the Arts (INNERSPARK) program will take place at Cal Arts from July 11 - August 7. Students who are accepted into the program will have an opportunity to study with working professional artists, writers and performers. Application information is available in the Career Center and at www.innerspark.us

SENIORS
SENIORS: You can still apply to CSU East Bay (Hayward Hills overlooking San Francisco). They will accept applications through March 1st. Submit your application at www.csumentor.edu. Their total fee package is the lowest compared to all Bay area universities. Good luck!!

SENIORS:AXA ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP: Seniors are eligible to receive a $10,000 scholarship from the AXA Foundation. Seniors must be a US Citizen or legal resident, plan to attend a two or four-year college, demonstrate ambition and self-drive, and have a recommendation from an adult professional.
