GENERAL
WINTER RALLY: Come out this Friday to the Winter Rally in the Main Gym. Make the Rally colorful by wearing class colors: SENIORS: GREEN, JUNIORS: YELLOW, SOPHOMORES: RED, FROSH: BLUE.
LETTERS FROM THE WHITE HOUSE CONTEST: To enter the contest, students are to write and submit either a letter or journal entry about an imagined or researched experience of living or working in the White House. The contest is sponsored by National Children's Book and Literacy Alliance. Letters or journal entries are due to Mrs. Limbaugh in the library by February 6. BLOOD DRIVE: There will be another blood drive for Nate on Friday, January 23. Stop by G-105 for details. Come on Cowboys-we need your blood.
SPANISH TUTORING: Spanish Tutoring begins today at lunch in D4 and tomorrow at lunch in D2.
KEY CLUB HOURS DUE: Hey Key Clubbers!!! Your hours are due. Turn in your hours January 26 to January30 in room V-1.
ALL STUDENTS WHO HAVE AN OPEN PERIOD, ROTC or a COC class: You will need to have an open sticker placed on your ID to leave campus if you have an abbreviated schedule. Please leave your ID with the campus supervisor as you leave campus using the following guidelines. The next day, you will need to pick up your ID on the south side of the new administration building (just outside the Counseling entrance) during brunch or lunch.

If you miss this opportunity, you must leave your ID with Mrs. Nelson in the AP offices before 8:00 a.m. for it to be ready for your pickup by lunch the same day. Remember, open stickers will not be placed on your ID while you wait.
WINTER FORMAL: Winter Formal is January 31. Come out and dance the night away. Tickets are not being sold after Friday, January 23. Tickets are $80 from January 20-23 for all couples.
ATTENTION CSF MEMBERS: Application and hour sheets are available to be picked up during lunch in room C-8, from TODAY to Friday, January 23. The completed forms are due Tuesday, January 27 to Friday, January 30.
CAREER CENTER NEWS
PSAT RESULTS ARE IN! Students may pick up their PSAT results in the Career Center before school, during brunch, lunch and after school beginning Tuesday, January 20.
NROTC SCHOLARSHIP MEETING: Learn about Naval ROTC Scholarships on Wednesday, January 28 at 10:30 in the Career Center. Representatives from the Navy will discuss how you can apply for the scholarship. Stop by the Career Center for permission slips.
MAKE-UP ARTIST CAREER SEMINAR: A representative from Make Up Designory (MUD) will meet with students interested in learning about their school and a career as a make-up artist. The presentation will take place on Thurs., 1/22 at 8:15 in Room H1. Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.
ARCHITECTURE AND INTERIOR DESIGN CAREER SEMINAR: Explore a career as an Architect and Interior Designer on Monday, January 26 at 11:25 in the Library. Learn about educational requirements, job duties, salary ranges and more. The Architect will present a great stress-test demonstration. Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.
MEETINGS
BOOK DISCUSSION CLUB: We have made our next selection. We will be reading Andy Smith's Ghost Medicine. We will read to page 53 (Chapter 4) for this Friday's discussion. If you have already read the book, please join us to discuss the book. Anyone is welcome. We will meet on Friday, during lunch in H1

KEY CLUB MEETING: Hey Key Clubbers!! There is a general meeting TODAY at lunch in the gym.
STUDENT TASK FORCE: The Student Task Force meets every Thursday in room G 201.
NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY MEETING on Thursday (Jan. 22nd) at the beginning of lunch in T4. All members must attend!
SENIORS
DIPLOMA NAME FORM: Your Government or Economics teachers will be asking you to complete the Diploma Name Form during class this week. Please print your legal first, middle and last names. This will help to insure the correct spelling on your diploma and the way that it will appear. If you don't receive one, you may pick up the form in the Counseling Office.
SENIORS-STILL LOOKING FOR $$ FOR COLLEGE??? There will be an informational lunch meeting Thursday (1/22/09) in B Lecture hall introducing the Santa Clarita Valley Scholarship Foundation application process. Thousands of dollars are earmarked for Canyon seniors! Don't miss out.
