GENERAL

THE CANYON THEATRE DEPARTMENT PRESENTS "CINDERELLA": Showing to the public this Saturday November 15th at 12 PM and 2 PM in the Q-Theatre. Tickets are $5 or $3 with ASB card. Come enjoy this wacky, off beat version of the classic fairy tale.

DO YOU HAVE GREAT LEADERSHIP SKILLS?  Are you interested in planning activities for the student body for Spring 09? If you are, pick up an ASB commissioner application outside of J-7.  Applications will be available till Thursday and are due on Friday 11-21.  There are only a few spots open.  Get your application today!

THEATRE AUDITIONS: Tryouts for next semester's Children's Show, "The Emperor's New Clothes" will be Tuesday November 18th starting at 2:15 PM. Arrive at 3:15 PM if you have a 7th period. No preparation necessary.

RENAISSANCE CARD HOLDERS:  Yum, Yum Donuts in K-1 at both brunches.  Doughnuts will be given to the first 50 students of each brunch.  Make sure to bring your Renaissance Card and ID.  Renaissance Card holders only.

SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY:  Members from Spanish Honor Society need to pick up the permission slip for our movie night November 20.  Please pick it up from D-2 or D-4 at lunch. 

SWIM TEAM:  The swim team is having a fundraiser on Tuesday, November 18th at the Canyon Country Wing Stop from 5-10pm, located in the Albertson's shopping center.  20% of all sales will go towards the Swim Team.   Flyers are in Coach Himes room T-1.

ATTENTION ALL CANYON HIGH SCHOOL FEMALE STUDENTS ages 14 –17:  If you are interested in being in the Miss San Fernando Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageant, go see Mrs. Okronick at the ROP Office.  APPLICATION DEADLINE IS NOV. 30, 2008

ARE YOU A CURRENT 9^TH OR 10^TH GRAGER who knows you want to go to a four-year university directly out of high school?  Are you unsure of how to get there?  Do you have a GPA between 2.0 and 3.5?  Are you the first in your family to go to college?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, you might be eligible for AVID.  See Mrs. Delawder in room C4 for an application or ask your teachers for more information.  Applications are due November 14th to room C4."

HAVE YOU BOUGHT A 2009 YEARBOOK YET?  November is your last chance to buy a 2009 yearbook at the introductory price of ($65 dollars with an ASB card and $70 without). After Thanksgiving break the prices will increase. SO don't procrastinate and buy your yearbook today.

CAREER CENTER NEWS

ROTARY JOB SHADOWING DAY:  Attention Juniors and Seniors:  Learn about the real world of work at Rotary Job Shadowing Day on Wed., Dec. 10.  Visit sites such as veterinarian, dentist, insurance agent and more!  There are approximately 16 sites to choose from.  Stop by the Career Center ASAP for an application.  STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION.

SENIORS

FIRST TIME FRESHMEN HAVE UNTIL NOVEMBER 30TH TO APPLY TO CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE FOR FALL 2009:  California State University, Northridge, will cease accepting applications for first-time freshmen for Fall 2009 at the end of the priority filing period after the close of business on Sunday, November 30th, 2008. The early closure is necessary due to the large number of students seeking admission to Cal State Northridge during the initial application period.
