PARENT WORKSHOP! – TONIGHT--"Resources in the SCV for Parents" will begin at 7pm in the library. Speakers from The SCV Youth Project, Child and Family Center and ACTION will present parents with excellent information to help students do and be their best. Don't miss this last meeting in our Parent Workshop series!
ATTENTION STUDENTS: Author, Gene Del Vecchio will be here on Thursday, Nov. 6 in the library at 10:15. Remember to have your 4th period teachers sign your permission slip and present that to Mrs. Limbaugh in the library on Thursday. Your attendance will be taken care of by Mrs. Limbaugh. ATTENTION ALL CSF MEMBERS: If you plan on applying for CSF Spring semester, please stop by room C-8 for your hours sheet. Freshmen are required to do 5 hours and Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are required to do 10 hours.
CONGRATULATIONS to Garrett Cervetto and Cynthia Lapos for earning certificates in the Speech and Debate tournament held here at Canyon High on Saturday, Nov. 1. Garrett earned a Superior Certificate for his Original Prose and Poetry piece. Cynthia earned an Excellent Certificate for her presentation in Oratorical Interpretation.

CANYON HOME FOOTBALL GAMES: Hey Cowboys- here are some reminders for our home games. NO Body Paint or Noise Makers are allowed. Also, NO Skateboards or Scooters are allowed anywhere on campus, which includes the parking lot and inside the gates of the football games. Also, please be reminded that once you enter the game and leave –YOU MAY NOT RE-ENTER. Bring what you need for the evening with you when you arrive at the game.

GEOSCIENTISTS CAREER SEMINAR: Geoscientists predict the behavior of Earth systems and help define the balance between society's demand for natural resources and the need to sustain healthy ecosystems . Attend the Geosciences Career Seminar on Fri., Nov. 7 at 9:15 and learn about careers such as Seismologists, Volcanologists and Environmental Geologists. Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.

FIRST TIME FRESHMEN HAVE UNTIL NOVEMBER 30TH TO APPLY TO CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE FOR FALL 2009: California State University, Northridge, will cease accepting applications for first-time freshmen for Fall 2009 at the end of the priority filing period after the close of business on Sunday, November 30th, 2008. The early closure is necessary due to the large number of students seeking admission to Cal State Northridge during the initial application period.
