GENERAL
CANYON HOME FOOTBALL GAMES: Hey Cowboys—here are some reminders for our home games. NO Body Paint or Noise Makers are allowed. Also, NO Skateboards or Scooters are allowed anywhere on campus, which includes the parking lot and football game. Also, be reminded that once you enter the football game and leave—YOU MAY NOT RE-ENTER. Bring what you need for the evening with you when you arrive at the game. Since this is a school –sponsored event, the Canyon High School DRESS CODE will be strictly enforced. ANY inappropriate attire (clothing, accessories, or headgear) will result in entrance refusal and possible removal if non-compliant.
GIRLS LOCKER ROOM closes every Friday at 3:15.
SUPPLEMENTAL PROGRESS REPORTS: If you would like to receive a supplemental progress report, please see Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office between 7:30am and 8:00am Friday morning to pick one up. If you have a 7:00am class, you may pick one up Thursday after your last class.
ATTENTION CANYON IMPROV TEAM: There will be rehearsal on Friday October 3rd from 2-4 PM in the Q-Theatre to make up for the rehearsals missed due to fall break. Please make your best effort to attend. We will be reviewing the successes of the Improvathon and planning our next big show/competition.
TEEN READ WEEK IS COMING- OCTOBER 12-18!! Celebrate the theme: "Books with Bite" when Cindy Swanke, the head of the COC Culinary department comes to speak. She will be in the library On October 14, period 4. See Mrs. Limbaugh in the library for a permission slip.
SPORTS DAY! This Friday, October 3 is Sports Day!!! Come to school dressed in your favorite sports team uniform and be ready at lunch on the Outdoor Stage for a chance to become the ultimate jock!!!!
ARE YOU SASSY? Hey all you junior and senior girls—do you have what it takes to walk the catwalk? If so, sign up in the ASB Office by October 8 to be a model in the Sassy Fashion Show. It will be held
On October 22 at lunch. ONLY the first 12 girls will be accepted! Are you Sassy??
ASB 4TH/RENAISSANCE is offering a day at Disneyland to all Renaissance cardholders on Oct. 10. The cost is $60 and includes tickets, bus, and chaperones. Busses leave school at lunch and will return after the park closes at midnight. Tickets are available in the ASB office and must be purchased by Wednesday Oct. 8th. Since you will be missing afternoon classes, this is open to Renaissance card holders ONLY. the last day to buy tickets is Oct. 3rd. Permission slips must be turned in with $60 to the ASB office by Oct. 3rd.
AVID students are selling Heritage Haunt tickets. It is being held every weekend in October, tickets are $8. You can buy tickets in room C4. You can also go online to www.scvhaunt.com and buy tickets from CANYON HIGH.
CAREER CENTER NEWS
MOUNT ST. MARY’S VISITATION: A representative from Mount St. Mary's College will meet with juniors and seniors on Wed., 10/22 at 8:00 in the Career Center. Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.
CAL STATE APPLICATION WORKSHOP: Seniors planning to apply a Cal State Campus are invited to attend a CSU Application Workshop on Wednesday, October 22 at 11:20 in the Library. Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.

STUDENT TASK FORCE: The Student Task Force meets every Thursday in room G-201.
YOUNG REPUBLICANS will meet today in Room A-6 at lunch. Everyone is welcome. Please come and bring your lunch and we'll talk about politics in America today, and the up-coming election.
SENIORS
SENIORS: The Ron Brown Scholar Program awards scholarships to academically talented, highly motivated African American students who plan to pursue undergraduate degrees full time! Over 241 students have been awarded scholarship totaling $40,000 dollars ($10,000 for each year). Please print the application from the Ron Brown website at www.ronbrown.org Deadline is November 1st
