GENERAL

 

Attention all Juniors :Connecting 2 Success- Do you want to find a job or internship? Do you want to meet business professionals? Do you want to participate in an off campus training event? Do you want to meet local business and community members?

If so…than this program is for you!

Connecting to Success is a high impact workforce preparation program in a business conference format. Students are transported to an off campus meeting site for a day filled with relevant information and exercises designed to prepare for the world of work.

Space is limited…sign up in the main office with Mr. Getz immediately.

 

DRESS CARD:  Students are reminded about the dress code at Canyon High School.  Crop tops, halter tops, low cut blouses, see-through or backless shirts and swim suit  tops are NOT ALLOWED!!  Also, gang styles, accessories, symbols and clothing modifications are not allowed.  T-shirts with graphics which depict anti-social behavior, controlled substances, alcohol beverages, violence, or sexual activities are prohibited.

 

BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP:  We will be meeting in H1 on Friday, Sept. 12, during lunch to discuss Montana 1948 up to Part 3.  Please bring your lunch, your book and join the discussion.  We will also choose our next book.

 

SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY:  LAST CHANCE.  Please visit Maestra Santos in D4 at lunch today to sign-up for your community service hours.  ¡Hasta luego!

 

SCHOOL PICTURES ARE IN and can be picked up in the ASB office before school, brunch and lunch in J-7

 

KEY CLUB HOURS DUE:  Returning Key Club members, your hours are due TODAY!!!!!

 

SAT PRACTICE TEST: Attention juniors and seniors! Revolution Prep is offering a practice SAT on Saturday, September 13th, right here on campus- and the best part is the test is only $20.  The real SAT costs nearly $30 more!  Bring your check made out to Canyon ASB by Friday the 12 to Ms. Jones in E5.  Questions?  Stop by to see her anytime!  This is a great deal, but there's limited space, so act quickly!

 

 

 

 

CAREER CENTER NEWS

 

PREVIEW DAY AT SACRAMENTO STATE:  Preview Day Sacramento State will take place on Sat., Sept. 27.  Activities include information sessions on admissions, financial aid, campus tours and housing.  Stop by the Career Center for more information or go to www.csus.edu/previewday.

MR. CANYON APPLICATION:  Hey all you senior boys out there, do you think you have what it takes to be the next Mr. Canyon?  If so, come to the ASB Office at brunch and lunch from Monday, September 15 to Friday, September 19 to pick up your application.  Let’s see if you really have what it takes to strut your stuff!!

PERFORMING ARTS SCHOLARSHIP FOR SENIORS: The FRIENDS of Arts Education at the Cerritos Center are offering scholarships to seniors who wish to pursue a career in the performing arts.
