GENERAL

 

SENIOR PARKING LOT: On Monday tickets will be issued to students parked illegally in the student lot.  You may only park in a personalized spot if it is yours!  If you are parked in the senior parking lot your parking pass must be displayed or you will get a ticket!

 

ROTC:  The bus to take you to Golden Valley will pick you up on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:40 in front of the school by the Flag Pole. 

 

BRUNCHES:  Students who have 3rd period classes in buildings A, AA, BB, B, C, D, E and F have 1st BRUNCH before 3rd period starts.  Students whose 3rd period classes are in buildings G, J, K, Q, S, T, U, & V, including PE, have 2nd BRUNCH after 3rd period is over.  Ask your teachers if you have any questions.

 

ROP: ANY STUDENT WHO IS TAKING AN ROP CLASS THIS SEMESTER, MUST SEE MRS. OKRONICK IN THE ROP OFFICE ASAP.  YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR ENROLLMENT FORM.  ROP CLASSES START TODAY.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:  All work experience students must attend the actual class during the first week of school.  You will receive further instruction from Mr. Varner during class.

 

CROSS COUNTRY:  Any student athlete interested in joining the cross country team, please see Coach Broneer G204 or Coach DeLong G205 ASAP.

 

BOYS BASKETBALL: Tryouts for the Boys' Basketball team begin today through Wed Aug 20th.  The tryouts will be held in the main gym at lunch.  Questions-- please see Coach Phillips in G-116.

 

BOYS SOCCER TRYOUTS:  Tryouts begin Monday, August 25 at lunch on the football field.  Tryouts will run that entire week and the following week—September 2-5.

Questions—see Coach Savage in room F-1.

 

ATTENTION all those interested in THEATRE at Canyon High: Spaces are still open for those who wish to be a part of the technical crew for the fall main stage production of "Moon Over Buffalo." Class meets during the 7th period block from 2-4 on Wednesdays and Thursdays. No experience necessary - just a willingness to participate and have fun. Stop by the Q theatre and talk to Ms. K for more information.

 

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS!!  Starting immediately, it will cost $.10 per page to print from the computers in the library.  Please try to have exact change.  You may only print one copy of your item - No Class Sets.

REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS:  Textbook damage forms are due back to the textbook center by Sept. 5th.  If you have lost the form you received at registration come to the textbook center to get another.

 

ROP:  The Hart District Regional Occupational Program (ROP) is pleased to announce the addition of three new and exciting opportunities for students:  ROP Culinary Arts, ROP Plumbing, and ROP Virtual Enterprise.  All three courses will be held after school hours.  Students from 11th and 12th grades are welcome to enroll.  Culinary Arts will be hosted at West Ranch High.  Plumbing will be hosted at Saugus High.  Virtual Enterprise will be hosted at Golden Valley High.  SEE MRS. OKRONICK IN THE ROP OFFICE FOR MORE INFORMATION ASAP.

 

MEETINGS

 

SPEECH & DEBATE:  Are you interested in dramatics or argument?  Would you like to overcome the fear of speaking in front of a group? Then come to the Speech and Debate meeting this Thursday during lunch in the library.  Find out what it's all about.  Everyone is welcome!

 

SPANISH CLUB:  Spanish Club Officers will be meeting Tuesday, August 19 at lunch in D-4.
