GENERAL

 

Girls Basketball CIF 2nd round playoff game is tonight at 7:00 p.m. in Canyon’s Gym.  The ticket prices are $5.00 for students with high school ID and children (5-13 yrs old).  General admission is $10.00.

 

Attention 10th and 11th graders!  Are you taking the SAT on May 2?  If so, Tier One Tutors will be offering a series of prep classes to help you succeed on the SAT.  The classes start March 18 and will meet at Canyon High School.  The cost is only $95.  If you are

 interested, please visit the Counseling Office to pick up a flyer.

JAZZ/POP AUDITIONS--IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!!  The date for Jazz/Pop auditions has been changed from Feb. 25th to Feb. 26th.  Come to the Q Choir Room to sign up for an audition space to be reserved.  You are not reserving a specific time, only a spot to be held for you.  The auditions will be first come first served on Feb. 26th beginning at 3:15 p.m. in the Temporary Band Room, S-3.   

 

SIGNUPS for 3 on 3 intramural basketball will take place this week. All skill levels are welcome!  Signup in C-5 at both brunches and lunch.

 

THE VINCENZO’S FOOD FUNDRAISER (on Lyons) for YES I CAN is TODAY—bring your flyer or a picture of it—this is an all-day event. 

 

Support Canyon Softball!! – Chipotle Fundraiser TODAY from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.  Tell the cashier you are there for Canyon Softball so we will receive 50% of the proceeds.  Thank you for your support!

SPECIAL OLYMPICS CLUB has new volunteer opportunities for those who are interested.  Please come by E-4 to pick up flyers.

 

BIBLE CLUB--Bible Club hasn't changed time or place.  We will meet Thursday at lunch in the A Lecture Hall.  We'll have great food, great discussion, and great fun!  See you there!

 

THE CANYON ROLEPLAYING CLUB will be having a training and a meeting for students who wish to Game Master games from 3 to 5 pm on Friday 2/27.  Prizes and food will be available! 

 

SCIENCE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: Attention all Science National Honor Society Applicants!  Check the list posted outside room G-101 to see if you made it!  Make sure to check before our next meeting Friday, February 27 at lunch in room G 101!  See you there.

 

TRUTH BE TOLD takes place today in room A-7.  Everyone is invited!  There will be pizza every other week.

 

ATTENTION COWBOYS!  The Chess Club, YU-GI-OH, and Magic club are actively recruiting new members!  Other board games are also available.  Stop by G-117 and ask Mr. Clark for more details!  We meet Wed and Friday in G-117 at lunch.

Hey cowboys! Come and support our VARSITY DANCE TEAM this Saturday, February 28 at Saugus High School.  This will be a great competition with a lot of surprises.  Admission is $9.00 at the door and the event is all day long.  Hope to see you there!

 

A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY will be having a general meeting on Thursday, February 26.  We will also be taking our yearbook picture.  If you wish to be a part of the club roster, you must be there for the meeting and picture.  Please meet in room D-4 at the beginning of lunch!

GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENT ORDERS ARE HERE!  Jostens will be on campus “ONE DAY ONLY” to deliver your graduation announcement order.  Pick up is on Thursday, March 5 at both brunches and lunch on the Outdoor Stage.  If you have a balance due, it must be paid on this day in CASH ONLY.  Please be on time to avoid shipping fees.  If you still need to order Graduation memorabilia, please visit www.jostens.com to place your order.  Time is running out.

 

SENIORS- The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program is offering 50 scholarships each up to $25, 000 a year. This program is for students who plan to enroll full-time in a four-year college or university with a major in a field of study that focuses on engineering, technology, design or business with an interest in the automotive industry.  Application Deadline: February 27, 2015. The Consumers Cooperative Society of Santa Monica, Inc., (CCSSM) is offering $2000 scholarships to high school seniors.  Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need.  Deadline is March 7, 2015.  Please visit www.ccssm.org  to apply.

 

There is a special COLLEGE EXPO for Asian American Pacific Islanders entitled “Journey to Success.”  It is scheduled to be at California State at Northridge (CSUN), which is located at 18111 Nordhoff Street in Northridge.  The expo will be in the Northridge Center on March 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Workshops will include financial aid and an interactive Engineering lab.  You must register by March 1 at www.calstate.edu/journeytosuccess.  For more info, please contact the Office of Student Outreach and Recruitment at 818-677-2967.
