Summer School Information

Dear Canyon Families,

We hope this letter finds you and your loved ones well. We have received many inquiries about summer school, and we now have all the summer school options available to share with you!.

Summer school is available for students that have failed a course, or need to improve a D grade.  Please take some time to look at your student’s transcript available in Infinite Campus to see if your student needs summer school.  Summer school will be offered in an online format this year.  For a list of classes that are available through the Hart District, please visit THIS LINK.

To sign up for summer school through the Hart District, please complete THIS FORM.

Students can complete two courses through the Hart District summer school program.  Please be advised that these classes are for remediation purposes, so a student will only be approved for summer school if they have already taken the course and gotten a grade of D or below.

Luckily, there is a little exception to the rule above. Summer school will offer four classes for students that have not failed any courses, but would like to get ahead in credits.  Those classes are Art 1A/1B, Health, Body Systems and Disorders A/B and Exploring Health Science Careers.

There are also two charter programs that are also available with online summer school programs, Opportunities for Learning and Mission View.  If you are interested in those programs, please contact your counselor directly.  For those programs, your counselor has to send a digital approval form for you.

We, of course, would first advise you to explore the summer school options given through the Hart District, with Hart District teachers, curriculum and standard pacing.  Please reach out to your counselor if you have summer school questions or need any help.

Stay safe and well, Cowboys.  WE MISS YOU!!
