SENIORS

SENIORS- The Santa Clarita Emblem Club #459 will award four $800 scholarships. Two of the scholarships will be awarded to a family member of an Emblem Club or Santa Clarita Elks #2379 member- the other two are open to all seniors. The application is available to you in the Counseling Office. Scholarship application must be postmarked on or before February 15, 2015.

SENIORS: If you are applying to colleges through the Common App, please check to see when your applications are due.  A large majority of colleges have a January 1st deadline.  Most schools that use the Common App require students to have a teacher recommendation.  ALL schools using the Common App will request a counselor recommendation. Please keep in mind that while YOU may work on your application over Winter break, your counselors and teachers will not.  If you have a January 1st deadline for any colleges, you should plan to give your teachers and counselors your completed recommendation forms no later than December 1st.

COUNSELOR NEWS: Due to popular demand, the counselors will continue to be in the library 7th period to help you fill out your college applications until Tuesday, November 25th.  Don't forget, the application deadline for UC and CSU schools is Sunday, November 30th.  Late applications will not be accepted, so make sure you get all your questions answered before you leave for Thanksgiving break.

DIPLOMA NAME:  If you are a senior and did not receive a Diploma Name Form in one of your classes earlier this month, please see Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office for this form ASAP.  We need to have your legal name on these forms for your high school diploma.
