Halloween Dress Guidelines for Canyon High School
Students are welcome to dress up on October 31st. However, students must be sure to follow school guidelines regarding this activity.
1. No masks or full-face covering items may be worn.
2. No items may be worn which promote or portray the use of drugs, alcohol or tobacco (eg. No Breaking Bad Costumes)
3. No items may be worn which demean / insult/ make fun of any person or group based on ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion or political affiliation.
4. Excessively revealing and sexually suggestive costumes will not be allowed.
5. Weapons, real or fake, are prohibited at school.
6. Outfits that are excessively bloody or glorify violence are not permitted.
Please note that the following guidelines are in effect for both the school day and the football game on October 31
THURSDAY AND FRIDAY come to C7 to buy your Leadership shirt designed by our very own Jessica Keller! Shirts are $15, and orders are due by lunch on Friday the 31st.
OPERATION US: We will be at Mint Canyon on Friday November 7th. Permission slips are DUE TODAY at the start of lunch.
COLLEGE FIELD TRIP TO CSUN CAMPUS: There is still room on the bus if you would like to go on the college field trip on November 12. The bus will leave at 9:00 am and will return to our campus at approximately 2:00 pm. The cost is $10 (cash only) which covers the cost of the bus. Please see Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office to pick up the registration and permission slips. Registration is limited to 50 students. The deadline to sign up is November 7. For more information, see Mrs. Devoe in the Counseling Office.
MEETINGS
BIBLE CLUB--Bible Club hasn't changed time or place. We will meet Thursday at lunch in the A Lecture Hall. We'll have great food, great discussion, and great fun! See you there!
SOS meeting on Friday October 31st in G-217, Miss Gibbs room! New members welcome!
Come to ANIME CLUB in costume tomorrow in K4 during lunch for a special Halloween meeting! Don't miss out!
CHECKMATES CHESS CLUB, YU-GI-OH and Vanguard and other board games meets every Wednesday and Friday in G-117. Bring your lunch. Questions, see Mr. Clark in G-117.
College of the Canyons High School Outreach Visits at Canyon High School
College of the Canyons’ Outreach and School Relations Office will be on our campus once a month providing information sessions for students who would like to learn more about the admission requirements for summer/fall 2015; certificates, associate degrees, transfer preparation and programs; College Now! Program for high school students; student support services and much more.
Stop by the Counseling Office to sign-up.
Information sessions will be held during 4th or 5th period in Room H1 on the following dates:

SENIORS
SENIORS- The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend the nation’s best 4-year colleges and universities. The Foundation will select up to 40 applicants nationwide for this highly selective scholarship where scholars may receive up to $40,000 per year! Visit WWW.JKCF.ORG for details. Application deadline is November 4th.
