Congratulations to Heather Kerr, Sabrina Senff, Alyssa Goenner, Camille Illg, Taylor Mansfield and Myriah Gallivan on an amazing season! Also a huge congratulations to Sabrina Senff for her 9th place finish in the Newhall Cup, with a 27 hole total of 149.

DFYIT members - please turn in your permission slips for the October 21 summit - Mrs. Parks cannot get you excused from school for the summit unless your permission slip has been turned in.  Please turn in to Mrs. Parks in A3 as soon as possible.  If you have lost your permission slip or have not picked one up, please stop by A3 to get one.

COLLEGE FIELD TRIP TO CSUN CAMPUS:  Canyon will be sponsoring a college field trip to Cal State Northridge on Wednesday, November 12.  The trip will include a school-guided tour of the campus as well as a chance to visit the school bookstore and cafeteria.  Many students have not had an opportunity to visit a college campus, and the counselors at CHS wish to give them that chance.  The bus will leave at 9:00 am and will return to our campus at approximately 2:00 pm.  The cost is $10 (cash only) which covers the cost of the bus.  You will need to bring a lunch or money to buy lunch in the college cafeteria.  Please see Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office to pick up the registration and permission slips.  Registration is limited to 50 students and forms will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis with no exceptions. For more information, see Mrs. Devoe in the Counseling Office.

ROP BROADCAST JOURNALISM is looking for a few good students!  Would you like to earn six figures and be famous for reading the news?  Then this is the class for you!  We work out of a real television studio, we cover events throughout the city, and we create programing that is seen on Time-Warner Cable.  If you want to see your name on the credits of a television program, then see Mrs. Gaines in the ROP office.  Sign up today!

FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER, DFYIT is partnering with Family Promise, a local group that helps the homeless population, to collect as many new pairs of socks as possible during the month of October.  This is something that all high school DFYIT groups are participating in - let's beat all of the other high schools by collecting the most socks.  Socks can be for adults, children, male or female.  Just bring in a new pair of socks to Mrs. Parks in A-3.
