GENERAL

PSAT STUDY GUIDES AVAILABLE:  If you are taking the PSAT test, please come up to the Counseling Office today to pick up a copy of the PSAT Study Guide.  The test will be given on Saturday, October 18 at 7:45 am.

SWIM TEAM TRYOUTS:  If you are interested in trying out for the swim team the first day of tryouts will be held October 6th at 2:30 at the SCV aquatic center please check the athletics website for more information

 

SUPPORT GROUPS:  Are you a student that is dealing with some tough challenges and you could use a little more support?  We have TWO SUPPORT groups starting on campus: one is for Girls and the other is for Guys.  So let a teacher or a counselor know and we can have the SCV Youth Project meet you and let you know about the groups!

 

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN GOING TO CHICO STATE?  They are having a fall Open House if you want to visit the campus, have a tour, meet with reps, learn about financial aid, and more!  Chico Preview Day is Saturday, October 25th, 2014 from 9am to 3pm.   To register go to www.csuchico.edu/admissions or call 1.800.542.4426. This event is free.

 

COME PLAY THE “COOLEST” SPORT ON CAMPUS.  The Cowboy Lacrosse Club will be having a meeting TODAY at 12:30 in room G-210.  If you want to play this year be there.  All levels of experience are welcome.

 

CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY (located in Pittsburgh, PA) is having an Open House in the Los Angeles area for students and their families on Sunday, October 19th at 2 pm.  They will be meeting at the Irvine Marriott, 18000 Von Karman Ave., Irvine, 92612.  Register on-line or call 412.268.2082; RSVP required.  The hour-long session will let you know all about the school. They are known for the following:

  • COLLEGE VISITS ON CAMPUS!   Find the right MATCH for you!  We have several colleges that will be on campus, in H-1, during 5th period to meet with REACH classes.  If you would like to meet with the reps please come to H-1 in the first 10 minutes of lunch.

JUNIOR and SENIORS: There are over 7000 colleges in the United States.  Do you need help deciding which colleges could be a good match for you?  The Counseling Department is going to start College Counseling workshops every Tuesday during 6th period.  If you are interested, please sign up in the counseling office.  The first workshop will be on Tuesday, September 23rd.

MEETINGS

 

ANIME CLUB: Come to room K-4 during lunch TODAY and join the Anime Club!  Here we will learn about our favorite stories, learn how to draw Anime, and have a terrific time!  Everyone is welcome!  See you there!

HEY KEY CLUBBERS:  General meeting has been moved to September 25th. 

On Wednesday, SMILE CLUB will be meeting in B-7 at lunch.  See you there!

MATH HONOR SOCIETY: Come join the math honor society TODAY for some fun games and activities. If you have yet to see the member list please come by room g-216 and check it out. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to talk to one of the leaders or Mrs.Denny! 

 

NATIONAL ENGLISH HONOR SOCIETY:  All students interested in joining National English Honor Society—ALL applications are due by Wednesday, September 24th. Come to C-1 to pick up or drop off completed applications.  If you would like to run for an officer position—you must submit a personal statement by Wednesday.

 

CHECKMATES CHESS CLUB, YU-GI-OH and Vanguard and other board games meets every Wednesday and Friday in G-117.  Bring your lunch.  Questions, see Mr. Clark in G-117.

 

Come to the BIBLE CLUB on Thursday at lunch in the A Lecture Hall!  We'll have some good food, good fellowship, and good discussions.  Everyone is welcome!
