GENERAL

 

"GOOD MORNING STUDENTS, Last year the visitors from WASC commented that ours was the cleanest campus they had ever seen.  We need your help to maintain such a great reputation! Please throw your trash in trash cans and your recyclable bottles in the blue recycle bins. Thank you!"

HOMECOMING IS HERE CANYON COWBOYS.  Make sure to buy your tickets for “A Journey through Disney” Saturday, September 20th from 7-11 pm.  Tickets are $10 w/ an ASB card, $15 without, and $20 at the door.  Guest tickets are $20 and due by Wednesday, Sept. 17, by lunch.  Don’t miss out!

PSAT STUDY GUIDES AVAILABLE:  If you are taking the PSAT test, please come up to the Counseling Office today to pick up a copy of the PSAT Study Guide.  The test will be given on Saturday, October 18 at 7:45 am.

SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL HUNGER AWARENESS MONTH. Join Cheer, Football and ASB in our month long food drive.  With your donations of canned food or personal hygiene items, we can help support the local food banks.  Boxes are located in the front office or you can bring any donations to our home game on Friday, September 19th.  No one deserves to go hungry.  Let’s show our community that Canyon High is committed to helping end hunger. Donate today!

 

FOOD SERVICE: Only students purchasing brunch or lunch should be in the food service building.  Once you have gotten your food, please exit the building right away to allow others access to the counters.  If you are waiting for your friends, please wait outside.  Thank you for your cooperation.   

 

COLLEGE OF THE CANYONS CAREERS ON THE GO WORKSHOP SERIES! The Culinary Arts workshop will be held on Thursday, September 18th, 2014 from 6:00PM-7:30PM at the COC Valencia Campus in Mentry Hall Room 343.

THE HART SCHOOL DISTRICT’S FOURTH ANNUAL COLLEGE AND CAREER FAIR on Wednesday evening, September 17th from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Valencia. Because of the popularity of our fair, the event will be open to juniors and seniors only.

 Over 100 representatives from 2-year and 4-year universities, career technical schools and apprenticeship programs will be participating. For more information visit the Career Center website www.hartdistrictcareercenter.com

LAST DAY TO PURCHASE A PARKING PASS IS TODAY. DON’T MISS OUT—on getting a parking permit.   Make sure you have the paperwork complete, before you sign up. Paperwork is found on the wall outside the ASB office.

 

College Fair ON CAMPUS TODAY! (Friday)! 

CANYON is having a college fair.  Students - perhaps your teacher MIGHT bring your class to the fair during 5th- it is just outside the main gym (in the shady area)...but if not please come by during lunch!  We will have some "Scavenger Hunt"-type questions that you can ask the college reps - you might be able to win movie tickets!

MEETINGS

 

THE ROLE PLAYING CLUB will be having its first game session at 3:00 to 7 pm in K-3 TODAY.   New players are welcome to come and enjoy the pathfinder roleplaying game.

 

CHECKMATES CHESS CLUB, YU-GI-OH and Vanguard and other board games meets every Wednesday and Friday in G-117.  Bring your lunch.  Questions, see Mr. Clark in G-117.

 

ATTENTION ALL NEW CSF MEMBERS!  There will be a mandatory general meeting TODAY in the library at lunch.  See you there!

 

HEY KEY CLUBBERS—If you are interested in community service hours, please go to Mr. Lee’s room TODAY at lunch in V-1.

 

OPERATION US: We are meeting Monday Sept. 15th at the start of lunch in E3. Bring your completed Golden Oak permission slips!

 

THE SPEECH AND DEBATE TEAM will be meeting every Monday starting September, 15th in Room E-5.  If you are unable to attend, please see Mrs. Wilken in Room E-5 to find out what you will miss.
